DUNGPOOL fieldwork is over! We had three amazing fieldwork seasons, with a lof of hard work, adventures and fun. Now is time to finish processing the samples, analyse data, and hopefully find interesting results. Stay tunned

Autumn experiments done! 1600 individuals of 3 species were used for evaluating the effect of temperature and species interactions on different ecosystem functions. 10 interaction treatments x 2🌡️treatments. A great effort from the team! @biotura @Guida_Santos7 & Almudena Dueñas
We are almost ready to start a new round of lab experiments, in which we will evaluate the effects of temperature and species order of arrival, on 💩🪲different ecosystem services! More news soon!

Fieldwork in the Azores finally comes to an end. Terceira Islands granted us many specimens, and a few Aphodiinae, which we haven't seen in the other islands. Now is time to pack everything back to Madrid, and analyse the samples collected. More news a few months from now!
And we are done with Faial Island! Finally we found dung beetles in many traps, and saw activity in the dung. We are off to Terceira, the las island of the field trip. Many thanks to this amazing team @biotura @Guida_Santos7 Almudena Dueñas & Laurine Parmentier
Fieldwork in 🌋 Pico Island is done. Very few specimens collected 🫤 these are not good news, and might reflect decades of abuse of ivermectins, a 💉 medicine given to 🐄 cattle that affects 💩🪲dung beetles Next stop: Faial Island
After a few days in Terceira Isl., setting up everything, we were finally off to Pico Isl. The 5 hours ⛴️ ferry journey went smoothly and we are (almost) ready to start the 💩experiments. More news soon
