Really disappointing that Starmer, when asked if he could help the V11 footballers who are being made bankrupt because they are victims of fraud, intimated it was for football to help players. When it’s the HMRC who are actually pursuing this. Poor.

Palace within their rights not to sell Guehi, much as Liverpool were in not taking the Real money for Trent in Jan Glasner absolutely right to hold firm too. Guehi not the first player to have to wait a longer for a move Liverpool should have paid up earlier - their mistake.

It'll pass largely without any mention, but as Eberechi Eze nears his Arsenal move, huge credit should go to @paulhall22 and Andy Impey for their role in Eze's journey. Absolutely instrumental in his development at QPR - without them, he could well have been lost to the game

You learn a lot usually from opening games. Today, West Ham have learnt that the problems they had last season haven’t been improved. Just as slow in midfield (possibly slower) and no creativity. So you wonder if lessons are really being learned?
