Summary of this talk: If I get stuck or get screwed on a causal problem then blame it on the assumption (the "graph" that domain scientists give you). Very similar to what classical Bayesians do: blame it on the prior.

Why you assume that Data Science = Model-blind ML. Why can't an ML-scientist use data-driven methods to refine science-based models? Data-science has evolved beyond the ancient debate between model-based vs model-free. @yudapearl

Should we submit articles to a journal whose goal is to maximize "pageview hit"? Journals are becoming marketing & advertising agencies and the goal of the Editor is to screen articles that will increase site traffic. No wonder nowadays research is driven by bandwagon effects.
