After living in Dubai for a year and paying zero taxes without any noticeable difference in the public services I get, I can't imagine going back to places like Europe where I would have to give half of my paycheck for god knows what.

I worked at his previous company vk.com and I can tell that the secret to this is having extremely simple architecture and writing as much stuff as possible yourself, without relying on 3rd party stuff, even for databases.
