In 2020, #stockportcounty launched a 7-year plan to reach the Championship. At the end of Year 4, there’s just 1 promotion left. The rise isn’t done yet. This is a top team with a top manager, entering a league where they could immediately have a go if they get it right again.
@edward_w97 No reason why you shouldn't. Luton weren't massively fancied after after coming 2nd in L2, but we went and won L1 rhe following season.
@edward_w97 Yep - brilliantly run club. Amazing what you can achieve with that kind of structure in place eh?
@edward_w97 I think we’d settle for mid table consolidation tbh
@edward_w97 I can see them and Wrexham going straight up as they both recruit wisely
@edward_w97 Stockport shouldn’t have sunk as low as they did in the first place, they should already be operating at the top end of League One, pushing for the Championship anyway.
@edward_w97 I was shocked 2 years ago. When I see them in non league. Good to see them on the rise
@edward_w97 Very little difference from L1 and L2. The top L2 teams consistently doing well on promotion, the bottom L1 consistently struggle after relegation. Stockport are much better funded than most L1 clubs so minimum target is playoffs.
@edward_w97 League one is not much different to league two bar the top 4 teams. The rest are indifferent and inconsistent.
@edward_w97 Think it’s gonna take a few windows to really give it a go. Would love to be wrong tho
