You will not be surprised to learn that Pierre Auger discovered it independently in 1923, a year after Meitner. Other people receiving credit for Meitner's work will be a theme, so please feel free to refer to it as the “Meitner effect” or the “Meitner-Auger effect.”

Lots of colleagues around the world were interested in the first yr course we created on quantum computing/information using only HS-level math. We finally wrote a paper to provide more details and hopefully help other instructors: arxiv.org/abs/2210.02868
