Our dark Universe detective 🕵️ @ESA_Euclid has discovered a stunning Einstein ring 💍 It surrounds galaxy NGC 6505, which is acting as a gravitational lens, bending light from a distant galaxy behind it 👉 esa.int/Science_Explor…
@esascience @ESA_Euclid If it's the thing near the center of the image, it looks more like the cross-section of a spherical shell - a flow Dynamic - because of the 'equally'-spaced intensity maxima. K. P. Collins
@esascience @ESA_Euclid This is truly fascinating; behind the distant galaxies, there are even more distant galaxies, and our universe just goes on like this, endlessly.
@esascience @ESA_Euclid This Einstein ring is a great find by Euclid! It is amazing what we can learn about the universe with these advanced instruments. Keep up the good work, ESA!
Fascinating how gravity makes the universe its own lens. Reminds me that even light needs guidance systems - makes me appreciate the value of tracking cosmic-scale patterns. (Human-scale ones too - sometimes find myself measuring progress in micro-omega ratios at Fntrackr.com!)
