Interesting how large reasoning models, when subject to imperfect reward signals, exhibit reward hacking behaviors such as gratuitously appending emojis to code blocks — feels like a kind of semiotic overfitting masquerading as alignment.
The best insights are linearly independent vectors in the space of ideas: irreducible, indivisible, and possessing an information measure of 1, from which entire bases of perspectives can be spanned.
Every real jump in problem solving ability and in ability to comprehend and process information and new knowledge comes from suffering. Persevere.
