Fascinating ChatGPT workaround: 1) I asked it to name the people in the photo. It refused. 2) I asked it to give me their titles, which it did. It then offered to give me the names of the people holding those roles currently. (!) 3) It gave me the names… but fumbled at the end!

Funny NIMBY - SocDem crossover moment. Family friend who is NIMBY insisted rents will fall under Mamdani because he’s socialist (implication that this is bad). I had to explain that rents falling would be good, but if Mamdani’s policies failed (as he insisted), rents would go up.

DOGE problems aside, there should be *more* opportunities for folks in industry to get exposure to the public sector and vice versa (e.g. “exchange programs” or fellowships). Allows for more knowledge and culture sharing and could help dispel some stereotypes.

Can confirm. Connecticut’s Medicaid payment system has been turned off. Doctors and hospitals cannot get paid. Discussions ongoing about whether services can continue. Medicaid covers health care for millions of seniors and covers 40% of births in America.

At some point the U.S. must come to realize that Musk’s involvement in the Trump campaign amounts to the wealthiest person in the world buying the presidency. There’s no other explanation. Anyone who believes in democracy must look upon it with disgust.

Am I the only one who finds “triads” in medicine a waste of time? Half of them are obvious if you understand pathophys, the other half are non-specific. Memorizing eponyms are a complete waste of time. Much higher yield to develop understanding of pathophys and illness scripts.

Funny how being a doctor changes your risk assessment. Me filling out maintenance request: “Hm.. an emergency? It’s not like I’ll *die* if they don’t come right away. I’ll mark high pri.” Guy when I call cause they never showed: “No hot water? I’ll put it in as an emergency!”
