There’s plenty of ways to make money as a web developer The difficulty is knowing which way to focus your attention There's no ‘one size fits all’ You'll need to explore multiple channels to see what works for you, without spreading yourself too thin

Selling digital products is hard There's so much free content & knowledge on offer, it’s difficult to differentiate paid products One major differentiator is the level of support you offer to paying customers This makes selling digital products not truly ‘passive’ income

I bootstrap everything I do I struggle to spend my own money, never mind the pressure of spending someone else’s I’m frugal & low risk by nature It means I have to try & mitigate failure by making smart choices Whether this is going to hinder my success, only time will tell

Grasping programming concepts can be difficult & frustrating Be patient with yourself & try not to give up if it’s not sticking Have a break & come back to it Before you know it, you’ll have an ‘aha’ moment & it'll all start to make sense

I’m a firm believer that consistency is a super power for getting stuff done 🏋️‍♂️If you ‘consistently’ lift weights, you’ll get stronger 🧑‍💻If you ‘consistently’ practice coding you’ll become a better programmer 🧘Just remember to also ‘consistently’ take regular breaks too

Some common misconceptions in web development: ❌ Using Google is cheating ❌ You need a computer science degree ❌ You can’t have a life outside of coding ❌ Working longer is more productive ❌ Design can’t be learnt ❌ PHP is bad It can be whatever works for you.
