@DavidSteadson I see some "oh maybe Zero Covid might have been good once but not any more" about today. You just KNOW that if a fully vaccine resistant variant shows up tomorrow, with plenty of warning before it spreads far and wide, those people STILL won't call for Zero Covid.

Every week when infections in children look low and/or flat in the ONS results, some very online paediatrician comes out shouting "Look no spread/spread's stopped in kids!" Every week we see substantial growth in kids and/or v. high rates of infection, there's no word from them.

These days they’re calling the multiple waves strategy “covid centrism”. Between zero covid and zero restrictions lies repeated waves of covid with yo-yo-ing between opening and restrictions. “Centrism” is repeated waves of covid. Call it what it is.

If you've never been to Gaza it's hard to grasp just how bleak it is. A whole generation now has grown up locked in a tiny enclave. They're coming of age in a place with no work, endless blackouts, barely any clean drinking water, and little prospect of getting out.

This is cruel. Instead of *working with parents* who are clinically (extremely) vulnerable, the government are withdrawing Free School Meals and remote learning provision for children at home. In what way is this allaying fears/anxieties about covid-safety in schools?

@DmodosCutter @fitzfun2011 @UKActionteam @MailOnline So angry every day. Multiple countries eliminated this a year ago and here in the West we're still waiting around like idiots, endlessly killing hundreds of thousands and ruining the lives of the living.

If there's a case in your kid's class, 50% more likely they'll catch it vs.old variant. 50% more likely you'll catch it from them. And 50% more likely you'll die. That's 3.5 the risk of death to a parent if it's in their kid's class vs the old variant.
