I used to get excited about awards—until I saw the link between sponsorship and “winning.” One organizer called to congratulate me… then asked me to pay for the trophy. I laughed and didn’t attend. Now I only celebrate the ones that don’t come with an invoice. #AwardSeason

@baba_nyenyedzi @freida_c Interesting convo. Reminds me of the convo about accountants in Zim who focus on cutting cost without considering the consequences, not forgetting or 3 quotes system where we pick the cheapest and not consider the goals we want to achieve. Few are visionaries in Zim

@baba_nyenyedzi @freida_c A ton of executives in Zimbabwe still very much believe in advertising in newspapers. In this day. When you pitch something to push their brands online, they flat out tell you they don’t believe much in social media and digital marketing.

@baba_nyenyedzi @freida_c Here, marketing and advertising departments are folding due to AI. Zim is resisting but classic jobs/industries are dying. Marketing strategies, logos, ads, websites and even distribution strategies are being created by AI in minutes. All for the price of your monthly wifi fee.
