@ScotsPolFed If the Met and other forces can say no to mental health calls, so should Police Scotland. “Keeping people safe” needs redefining—safe from crime, not becoming the default for every mental health crisis. We’re not a substitute for a broken system.

State of policing in Scotland. Less than 5 years service-quitting. 5-20 transferring to Australia or becoming train drivers. 20-30 years trapped by pension, hate everything about PS, retiring as soon as they can.

Council tax is about to go up 10%. For 24/25 police officers got 4.75% payrise after a decade of below inflation increases. We are now so far below where we should be the government will never give us a big enough payrise to redress the balance or to attract the right people.
