EA execs earned $60 million in 2024 despite layoffs and office closures CEO Andrew Wilson received almost half of that total gamedeveloper.com/business/ea-ex…
@gamedevdotcom I just do not understand blaming the studios over yourself, temporarily reduce your own insane unnecessary levels of income for potential future increases?
@gamedevdotcom Those $60 millions could have been used to earn more money for them, you know by investing in creating more and better games
@gamedevdotcom CEO of EA - Zero consequences of your acts - Earns 30$ mio a year - Killing IP's like there is no tomorrow - Pressuring Studios - Blaming Studios for bad games - Ripping of people with loot boxes
@gamedevdotcom Im glad me along with all the others getting laid off was a contribution to that amount 👍 woo
@gamedevdotcom "Despite" doesn't mean "as a result of". Stop using "despite". This is intentional strategy that results in rewards.
@gamedevdotcom EA execs earned $60 million in 2024 BECAUSE layoffs and office closures CEO Andrew Wilson received almost half of that total
@gamedevdotcom There is no greater waste in expenses in the game development pipeline than these people. You wanna trim the fat, make line go up? Get rid of these types.
@gamedevdotcom I really don't understand how you fail upwards in companies at the top. If I was entry level and the mistakes I made caused my coworkers their jobs, I wouldn't have a job anymore. Slap an executive title on me, and it's a massive bonus or promotion. How does that make sense
@gamedevdotcom These Fuckers dont even deserve half of that. All they do is make bad decisions while they fire those who actually do work in the industry, and make the millions these developers would deserve. Fuck every CEO ever.
@gamedevdotcom I feel like it should say, "...$60 million in 2024 because of layoffs and office closures." They're being *rewarded*. 😒
@gamedevdotcom Don't phrase it like that. EA execs earn 60 million in 2024 *for* layoffs and office closures. This is part of their business. And in a wider scope this is part of the industry standard.
@gamedevdotcom this is what normal people call corruption in other industries
@gamedevdotcom I'm pretty sure that if they get rid of the CEO they'll make more money
@gamedevdotcom From what I know CEOs or higher ups have big salaries cause they are more prone to risk And employees are supposed to get stable salaries and less risk. But situation is kinda upside down here...
@gamedevdotcom Andrew Wilson you’re a evil piece of sh*t, how can you live with yourself
@gamedevdotcom I don't think it was wrong to use it, but I think from here on out, we should stop saying "despite" in these situations. It's usually the root cause of the other issues.
@gamedevdotcom Keep yourself safe Mr. Andrew Wilson. 🙂
@gamedevdotcom And your gameplay still sucks
@gamedevdotcom Wilson was appointed as CEO in September of 2013. Stock value went up 524% since then. 29.35 billion dollars of new value. How much is that worth?
@gamedevdotcom Imagine how many productive people you could hire for 60 million
@gamedevdotcom Shane on them for making their pay the only priority. Not their employees or their product.
@gamedevdotcom With $60 millions you can make like 1,000 innovative indie games like my own game BROK.
@gamedevdotcom maybe now EA can invest in some servers :)
@gamedevdotcom "EA execs earned $60 million in 2024 because of layoffs and office closures"
@gamedevdotcom Keep on feeding the whales, and you lose all the fishes. Find out where the are more of.
@gamedevdotcom Your company really needs to die. I'm not talking bankruptcy, I'm talking you need to lose everything.
