30% LTCG tax on equities is being proposed in India. Rationale: developed nations have a higher capital gains tax. Problem: less than 4% people invest in stock markets in India. Our capital markets are still quite new. Poor taxation will kill it in a nascent stage.

#Crypto is a global asset class and an investment product. Trading crypto requires specific skills and cannot be compared to gambling. The tax rate should have at least been the same as it is for other asset classes. The proposed 30% tax will hamper wider adoption.

The major problem with owning a house is the you are putting all your eggs in one basket. For example: if your total portfolio is 1Cr and you buy a house at 2Cr (for which you will keep on paying an EMI for 20 years), you are negatively diversified. That's a bad investment.
