Clayton Oliver won the Best Young Player award in 2017, 8 years ago. He is one month older than Shaun Mannagh. Again, played well and deserves some praise but this wasn't his award to win. I'll stop now. Still just pissed about Worrell.
Shaun Mannagh, although he had a terrific season, is closer in age to Scott Pendlebury (37, 400+ games) than Lennox Hofmann, a player Geelong drafted last year. That's your Young Player of the Year.

Xerri had a good season but averaged 1.7 marks as a ruck which isn't good enough. Also had 2.7 points generated above an average ruck compared to Gawn (10.7), English (13.1), Jackson (8.6) and Grundy (9.2). MG, BG and LJ also rucked at higher efficiency and intercepted way more.
