Announcing Android emulator and iOS simulator support right in the browser (and more!) — check out product updates from Project IDX to help you build with less friction. Speed up and simplify software development with Project IDX. Dive in 🚀 ↓ goo.gle/idx-update
@googledevs Wow! Browser-based Android emulator and iOS simulator? This is a developer's dream come true!
@googledevs This will be huge for devs. Back in my day, I nearly blew up a ton of laptops trying to get the Android emulator running. Then there was the dreaded HAXM.
@googledevs I think one of the most exciting things about this update is that it removes a lot of the friction that can slow down the development process. No more waiting for emulators to start up or dealing with compatibility issues between different development environments.
@googledevs But we will still need Xcode to run builds?
@googledevs Having emulator/ simulator running on the browser is quit cool, I remember struggling with RAM each time I'm on flutter dev. Idx.dev here we come...
@googledevs We are super excited about the new Android emulation 📱 and iOS simulation 🍏 capabilities directly in the browser.
@googledevs So that means you no longer need a Macbook to debug Safari on iOS? 👀
@googledevs Can this be used for Native android development or compose Multiplatform??
@googledevs @fluttertap I think AWS had something like that for years.
@googledevs Finally I can run Android tests without dealing with this annoying emulator… Good job @googledevs 👏
@googledevs 今更だけど、joinしてwaitlistに登録者しました。早く試してみたいです。
@googledevs Awesome! Now just need to be taken off the waitlist after 6 months 😩😵💫
