If a game makes you feel like you're working rather than playing, it's time for mods.

Just modded out the "realistic" encumbrance system that had me walking at snail speed every 5 minutes. Gaming quality: increased.

The greatest gaming skill isn't reflexes or strategy - it's knowing when to mod out the BS.

Game: "This will take 200 hours to complete." Me: "I have about 20 hours total to game this month." Mods: "I gotchu fam."

Remember when games were designed to be fun instead of time-consuming? Mods remember.

Nothing says "I value my gaming experience" like refusing to tolerate bad design decisions.

Just turned "You must gather 50 bear pelts" into "You must gather 5 bear pelts" and suddenly the quest is actually fun!

Game: "You can't save during this 3-hour mission section." Me: installs save anywhere mod

The most satisfying mod isn't the one that makes the game easier - it's the one that makes it stop wasting your time.

If your response to difficult games is "just practice more," some of us have jobs, families, and lives outside of mastering one boss fight.

Remember: The "intended experience" often includes artificially extending your playtime for marketing metrics.

Converting 100 hours of filler content into 30 hours of quality gameplay. Now THAT'S game design.
