What's your favorite transistor? 2N222? BC548? Something new and hot the normies haven't cottoned on to yet? Sound off below. Users suggesting PNP transistors will be banned.* *Just kidding. Mostly.
@hackaday anything soviet, preferably germanium and made many years after they should have stopped production
@hackaday BC107 - just because of the metal capsule makes it work as a perfekt temperatur sensor with 0.2C precision besides of being a npn transistor.
@hackaday The one I usually choose when I need a switch with no specific restrictions, is 2N7002. The first one I used more than 30 years ago when I was a kid, was BC547.
@hackaday P=NP transistors...they help a lot with complex calculations...
@hackaday Easy, the 311 Transistor... It rawkz!
@hackaday 2N2222 - because I can remember the part #
@hackaday Transistor of my childhood: BC107B. Unsoldered those from heaps of e-waste.
@hackaday 2N4401 because it puts the magic smoke back in the pinball machine
@hackaday 2N3904/MMBT3904 along with 2N3906/MMBT3906 has been my go-to for years...<starts doing the math>...decades! I gotta find something different so people won't be calling me "boomer" 😀
@hackaday I have a bunch of BC547s, so an easy current fav. Can we do one of these for small displays? I’d love to know what people are using!
@hackaday SI2300 and the likes. Powerful little bastards. SI2365 because you could get a full reel for $3 at mouser at one point. IRFS7530 Different scale, but again PLB. Please ensure that at no point in time current exceeds 1.45kA.
@hackaday Still BC237 😈 Actually, I have a big box labeled TUN (Elektor days) with hundreds of similar spec transistors.
