Enjoy this A to Z of H.G. Wells, a nod to the annual #ArchivesAtoZ campaign. X is for X-Rays In 1895, W.C Röntgen reported the discovery of X-ray technology. Fascinated with the possibility of scientific discovery, Wells experimented with invisibility in The Invisible Man.
Z is fo Zilliax! Henry Zilliax, owner and proprietor of the Zillax House Hotel, was a well-known figure in late 19th- and early 20th-century Elmira. After a lightning strike in 1898, the hotel burned down and had to be entirely rebuilt. #ArchivesAtoZ

#ArchivesAtoZ: Z is for Iomega Zip disks. Accessing information requires us to maintain legacy tech. We have a Zip drive on hand to access Zip disks. (This one could store 250 MB, less than some individual scans we do these days.)

Z is for Jarold K. Zeman, a prominent church historian and a founder of the @Acadia_CBAS! His archival materials, which were processed in 2021 by a Young Canada Works Building Careers in Heritage intern, and his library makes up our Zeman Collection. #ArchivesAtoZ

Our last #ArchivesAtoZ: Z - Zoo. Jungle World, west of Reece’s Corners, was established in 1964 by Bill Berube. This four-acre tourist attraction showcased exotic animals and offered visitors hands-on experiences, like rattlesnake milking, for a 75¢ admission fee. #LCArchives
