Sometimes a good start is to ask questions. We started doing this years ago with the #convergedComputing movement. What do we want the future to look like? 🤔The answer was wanting portability, elasticity, and dynamism.
I say this too many times, but I keep having amazing and wonderful days, and so much of that is due to my #ConvergedComputing team and our work, and the immense amount of support I get from @Livermore_Comp. I'm inspired and really happy, and (still) grateful for all of that. 🥰
You'll find all content to reproduce what I show you in the #ConvergedComputing Flux Tutorials repository: github.com/converged-comp…. Have a question, or want to request a tutorial? Let me know there! This is about having fun and learning, and seeing just how cool Flux is!🥳
I'm pleased to announce that our work on the @FluxFramework operator is published in @F1000Research! This is an example of #ConvergedComputing and was (continues to be) a joy to collaborate with @alculquicondor and @Itsuugo. doi.org/10.12688/f1000…. Let's do this more often! ❤️
Some of my favorite people in this group! We have so much fun working on #ConvergedComputing. 🥳

Just had a really fun time talking about #ConvergedComputing, and the collaborative space between #HPC and cloud #Kubernetes! There are some good ideas and discussion here - I hope that you enjoy! 😚 Here's the start: youtube.com/live/Pdi5A_FL0…

The #FOSDEM Bare metal bros talk is online! fosdem.org/2024/schedule/…. If you are interested in some of our #ConvergedComputing work with @FluxFramework and #Kubernetes, and why this work is important, this is a great talk to watch. 👇
Thank you so much to @kehoste for "makin' it work" to include me in the #FOSDEM #HPC devroom to talk about #ConvergedComputing! The talk will likely be posted soon, but I wanted to express gratitude & how immensely fun it was to field these questions and see your smiling faces!❤️
We are super friendly and like to have fun too! Ping @sudo_bmitch @franczyk_marcin for the other proposals, and I also want to point out that our spaces our colliding. The work of #archspec from @spackpm and our #ConvergedComputing work for @FluxFramework. It's so exciting! 🥳
Finally, I'll just point out that I am a huge advocate for all things cloud. I am much more likely to be championing it along with #HPC for our #ConvergedComputing work! This is not about that, although I will say I wish there was more transparency into quantity available. 😉
This is just a prototype and proof of concept, but I'm taking a moment of pause, because I think this kind of integration is not just an example of #ConvergedComputing, but a potential future I'm wanting to see. This should be possible to use on #HPC and cloud. We will get there.
A poll is underway! For anyone interested in #Kubernetes batch: workload managers, scheduling, and perhaps that includes @FluxFramework #SLURM in #HPC or #ConvergedComputing please help us find a time for an Americas/APAC meeting. 👉 groups.google.com/a/kubernetes.i… Thank you! 🙏

For those following our #convergedcomputing operator work - today I added to the @orasproject operator an ability to add credentials (via secret) and push/pull to/from an entirely remote registry! github.com/converged-comp… There are several reasons, let me briefly describe. 🧵
The entire writeup is here: vsoch.github.io/2023/oras-kube…, the repo github.com/converged-comp… and documentation: converged-computing.github.io/oras-operator/. I started this project last week, so more to come! I love my team, our work, and what I am able to work on for our #convergedcomputing future. ❤️
We are in the home stretch for our #CiSE special issue on #ConvergedComputing! Submissions are due end of Dec., and if you are planning to submit but have not notified me, please do so ASAP! computer.org/digital-librar…. Join us in kicking off this movement, and have some fun too. 😉
This is a fun episode because we talk about how Nextflow came to be, and cover some of the challenges of #convergedcomputing! Whether you are interested in the story, containers, filesystems, or storage, this episode should be interesting for you! podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/gro…
The #kubecon schedule is live!! 🎉😍 We are coming back for more fun!! 🤯🦖😄 Come learn about the #JobSet API for running complex workflows/experiments for cloud and #HPC on #Kubernetes! Let's move to a future of working together in this #convergedcomputing space. ❤️

Is it August already?! We are putting out a 2nd round of calls for reviewers and authors to contribute to the #IEEE CiSE Special Issue on #ConvergedComputing! computer.org/digital-librar…. It's paramount that we map out this space, exploring the intersection between cloud + #HPC.
Beautiful work by the KTH ScaLab Daniel Medeiros, Gabin Schieffer, and Ivy Peng on pushing molecular docking workload to converged computing systems (HPC + Cloud )with Kubernetes & Airflow. @OpenCUBE_EU @KTHuniversity #ConvergedComputing #MolecularDocking
For this story, I want to share a tiny slice of our work in #ConvergedComputing with the @FluxFramework Operator, and talk about a journey that started with saving state in March, and (as of yesterday) has progressed to the first inkling of what we might call elasticity. Why? 🤔
