@realglacier @egli_pascal @glaciares_ong I was unable to include 2023 and 2024 here (Cloud covered or unavailable imagery) however, I thought it was interesting to highlight the changes seen between the summer months of 2021 and 2022. The changes observed in the Laguna de los Témpanos is incredible! #geemap #Chile
@subfossilguy Surging Muldrow Glacier, Alaska between 2017-2023 using Sentinel 2 imagery. GIF created using #geemap. Looks like significant surging in 2021? #EarthDay #glacier #Alaska

Excelsior Glacier (Kenai peninsula, Alaska) 2000 | 2023 The proglacial lake started to form in the 1940s (and is today 11 km long), so that you can appreciate the magnitude of recent changes! 😨 Source @tomosglaciology (Landsat satellite imagery through #geemap)
@realglacier From 2016-2023 using Sentinel 2 imagery in #geemap the lake doesn't appear to grow much. Notibly, the glacier on the top right appears to have retreated out of the lake. I wonder when we will observe this with the Excelsior glacier...
@realglacier Some dramatic changes to the Excelsior glacier and its proglacial lake, Alaska between 2000-2023 using Landsat satellite imagery through #geemap. Such an incredible loss of ice is observed between 2014-2015!
Special thank you to @MimiNuTon for her incredible geospatial work on this project, Matt Weaver (Harvard Medical School) for his invaluable sleep expertise, and the incomparable @giswqs for his amazing #geemap Python package for geospatial analysis with #EarthEngine
Loading a local raster dataset with #geemap and visualizing it with #EarthEngine data layers. In this example, a @NOAASatellites @JPSSProgram True Color GeoTIFF. Thanks to Professor Qiusheng Wu's (@giswqs) excellent series of tutorials!
