This sweet coal tit is one of the many lovely birds visiting the farm now that it's spring! We've seen robins (and their chicks!), wrens, parakeets, a woodpecker and (of course) lots of pigeons too! 🐦 #oasisfarmwaterloo #springwatch #urbanfarm #cityfarm #londonwildlife
Accidentally disturbed this handsome chap's afternoon nap in a London park today as I was trying to photograph jumping spiders - happily he decided I was no threat, stretched a bit and went back to snoozing in the sunshine. 🥹 #FoxOfTheDay #LondonWildlife @BBCSpringwatch

Local wildlife. Picked up this male Hairy-footed Flower Bee as he was in a vulnerable position on a pavement. Managed these two phone photos as I was about to release him on flowers in my garden (where I've seen them before), but he then flew off very quickly! #londonwildlife
Garden wildlife. A lovely Zoropsis spinimana rescued from my waste bin today. I've seen them here before, the first time being last year. #londonwildlife

Thoroughly enjoyed today's walk with @LNHSoc learning about #Londonwildlife🌳in St James's Park. I can now distinguish a Prunus 'Accolade'🌺from a Prunus 'Kanzan', which is clearly an essential life skill 😉I can't wait to share passion for 🌳🌲with the children of @woodcraftfolk
Garden wildflowers. The largest patch of Lesser celandine in the grass was looking good in the sun today, and with some Daisies too. Also, some of the Forget-me-nots have started to flower (these ones are also in the grass). #londonwildlife
Garden wildlife. A few of these hoverflies in the front garden today, I think Volucella bombylans. At times, particularly when seemingly in pairs, they were quite aggressive chasing off bumblebees. Very mobile, so blurry phone photos only. #londonwildlife
4 years this week since the first #lockdown. In that time the #Thames became as still as the wild - no #river traffic, no waves, just the seeping on and out of the tide. The birds ruled the water... my daily exercise was to cycle down there... #londonwildlife #swans
I spotted a flat fly on Azina today. She didn't like it much it seems. @flygirlNHM #LondonBirds #LondonWildlife
Garden wildflowers. Lesser Celandine in the back 'lawn', and Ivy-leaved Toadflax by the front fence/pavement. #londonwildlife
I found this Spitting Spider (Scytodes thoracica) on the bathroom floor this morning. It's only the third I've found here in recent years. #londonwildlife
