Brief review of the birding year. Some great rarities, brilliant vizmig, great autumn thrush falls, another successful #migfest but where were the common migrants yet again especially Robins, Blackcaps and Chiffchaffs? #spurnbirds @RareBirdAlertUK spurnbirdobservatory.co.uk/sightings/12/2…
@waderquest Thank you for all you do for #waders! Was lovely to meet you at #Migfest. Here’s some wintery waders at Boulmer with seasonally red legs! @ForShorebirds @WaderStudy @curlewcalls @NTBirdClub

Following #bird #migration is definitely challenging - for armchair watchers like me too, seeing chicks hatch, fledge, then off into the wide world. @sachadench tells the story of what birds must endure. @spurnbirdobs #migfest #SaveOurWildlife #FlightOfTheOsprey #FlightOfTheSwans

I had a fantastic time @spurnbirdobs's #Migfest last weekend, and as well as seeing some fantastic birds, I met a brilliant bunch of people. My highlights were finding a Corncrake near the Warren on Sunday, as well as seeing the Great Shearwater and 5+ Shorties. I shall return!

Hares are stunning! Like James 👇 I’m amazed by close views if you sit still! Filmed by chance through my car window about 7am, at my first #Migfest. @spurnbirdobs @Britnatureguide @Mammal_Society @YWT_North @WildlifeTrusts @ukyouth4nature #TwitterNatureCommunity @NatureUK

Had such a great time at my 1st #migfest @spurnbirdobs this wknd. I was pretty damned nervous going by myself, but everyone was so friendly and I felt very safe and welcome. Huge thanks to the amazing team at spurn and the wonderful volunteers who made it such a great event.
Section of 'Barred Warbler and Honeysuckle', Watercolour 560 x 380mm Another from #migfest @spurnbirdobs One of the highlights was this fabulous young Barred Warbler, feeding among berries and shadowed leaves.
Opticron are delighted to have sponsored the Martin Garner Spurn Young Birder competition at Migfest. The winner of this year's 13 and under category is Alfie Seastron! Congratulations @AlfieBirder; we hope you enjoy your Traveller binoculars. @_BTO #MigFest #SpurnYoungBirder
Images do not need to have been taken using fancy kit- we want to see photos that mean something to you and capture the essence of #Migfest. It could be a crowd, a portrait of a bird, a landscape - whatever you like! The caption should explain why you chose the photo. Good luck!
Finally coming down from another mental #migfest weekend. It’s an absolute privilege to work with the incredible team behind the scenes putting this epic event on, and the unbelievable volunteers without whom we couldn’t run the weekend. Thank you to each and every one of you
A couple of birders I shot at #migfest standing on the cliff edge at Bluebell.
