@xadh I usually use #OpenVMS. There is an OpenVMS installation on it, as well. But I was asked if I could make the system available for #Debian development, so it is available for that purpose from time to time.

VAX #OpenVMS backup time...

An ugly solution, but it works. I put the system disk from the VAX 4000/300 into the VAX 4000/200 and now have a working VAX with #OpenVMS. While doing so, I also discovered that a different cable on the DSSI bus is broken than I had previously thought.

And once again, my collection of DEC documentation is growing: now, a (probably) almost complete set of #OpenVMS 6 (for #VAX; OpenVMS for #AXP 1.5) documentation. The Programming series is complete, with a few books missing from the System Management and User series.

The third part of setting up a storage area network (#SAN) with some #Compaq, #DEC and #HP hardware components and #OpenVMS. At least this time, it works for the most part. youtu.be/0C-0vf5WBAU

I had problems accessing a #DLT Tape and a TZ89N via Fibre Channel and a #Compaq Modular Data Router under #OpenVMS 7.3-2 a few day ago. But the access to the tape works fine under OpenVMS 8.4. I may have to take a closer look at the FibreChannel patches for OpenVMS 7.3-2 now.
