The HFK retreat wrapped up with presentations, the HFK Olympics (what’s team bonding without a little competition? 💙🏆), a powerful devotion, and a perfect sunset ending with dinner, horses, and rope swings. 🌅🩵 We can't wait to see everyone again! 🫶

This past weekend, we had our annual HFK retreat! 💙💚 It was an amazing time of fellowship, team-building, and fun for everyone. We are so thankful for this time to gather with all of our season's team captains, staff, and board members! 🙏✨

Costa Rica Day 8: The team wrapped up with two hours of games, zip-lining, and a local lunch. They ended the day with game night and heartfelt goodbyes. The kids were grateful for the time spent with them this week and for an active, fun Saturday! 🧩🫶💙✨

Costa Rica Day 7: The team finished their library work with a prayer. 🙏 They delivered donations to local sites. 🎁 HFK beat Roblealto in a long-awaited mejenga (soccer game)! ⚽️ The night ended with a touching farewell dinner. 🏡

Costa Rica Day 6: The day began with worship, prayer & a devotional. 🙏 They made big strides on the library project, played with the kids, bonded over dinner, & ended with reflection, “hot seat,” & thank-you letters. 🔨📝💙

Costa Rica Day 5: The team feels encouraged seeing the fruit of their labor on the service project! 🔨🙌 They were blessed by time with the house moms 💙 and had a blast playing sports with the kids! ⚽️🏐🇨🇷

Costa Rica Day 4: The team got back to work with primer & plaster 🖌️, learned about Roblealto’s 93-year history 🇨🇷, helped kids with homework 📚 (thanks Listos Learning!), led outdoor games & hosted bingo + pizza night 🍕🏆. Ending with deep reflections 💙

Costa Rica Day 3: The group started their service project by transforming a greenhouse into a school library. Post-work, the team enjoyed a futsal game. For dinner, they spent time with the kids in different houses, which many found to be the highlight of their day! ️🛠️🏡⚽️

Costa Rica Day 2: Tourist day! The team visited La Paz Waterfalls & animal sanctuary 🌿🦋, had a buffet lunch 🍽️, explored downtown San José, grabbed ice cream & souvenirs 🍦🎁. A CR jersey was gifted for Father’s Day 🇨🇷. Evening spent resting before service work begins!

Peru Day 9: The perfect day to wrap up an amazing trip! 🫶 The team explored Cusco, visited Incan ruins, the Mother Earth temple, and met with a local shaman. ✨ They chased alpacas, wandered neighborhoods, and hit a cat café! 🦙☕️ Tupananchiskama, Peru! 🇵🇪🤍🇵🇪

Costa Rica Day 1: The team arrived from across the U.S. and the Dominican Republic! ✈️ After settling in, they hiked the river, sorted 18 bags of donations, and had orientation, games, dinner, and a debrief. 🎒🙌🤍 Grateful and expectant for what’s ahead this week! 💫🙏

Peru Day 8: The team explored Machu Picchu, learning about its history, architecture, and restoration. They spent two hours taking in the views, snapping photos, and connecting with the story of this sacred site.🇵🇪⛰️📷 Tupananchiskama, Machu Picchu - until we meet again. 🫶

Peru Day 7: Time to explore! The team was sad to leave the kids but excited to experience more of Peru. After saying goodbye to Diego, who left for Costa Rica, they traveled: Lima ➡️ Cusco ➡️ Ollantaytambo ➡️ Aguas Calientes. They explored, tried new foods, and settled in!

Peru Day 6: Hardest day so far, the goodbyes! 🥲 The team wrapped up their final beautification project, then joined Oasis Center outreach programs. They ended the day around a bonfire, sharing hugs, memories, and tearful goodbyes. Bonds built this week will last a lifetime. 💙
