So I decided the level theme needed a "cave" variant with more echo, and then I wrote a "pause" variant while I was at it. So the game has a pause feature now, and that's all hooked up and working. Dynamic soundtrack on an #nes, oh yes! #chiptune

It's surprisingly tricky to get decently looking grass out of the palette constraints, but I think this mostly succeeds. Here the wall is sneakily using the yellow enemy palette, so the grass surface can have its own unique 2-tone ramp. #pixelart #nes
