Monthly net salary 2005 DR - £2,168 MP - £2,293 2023 DR - £2,108 MP - £4,939 This is why I support the #DoctorsStrike And last year over 7,000 doctors left the UK for better paid jobs overseas. If you want to save the NHS, you too should support the strike.
@implausibleblog The value add of an MP to the UK since 2005 has decreased in direct proportion to their salary increase. The reverse is true for junior doctors :-(
@implausibleblog I bet that doesn't even include all the expenses MPs are entitled to
@implausibleblog I did the same with thing earlier this year with my first pay cheque as a teacher in September 1997 to my last in August 2023. Similar story. It's not acceptable, and also why I support the #DoctorsStrike
@implausibleblog I struggle to understand how an mps salary needs to rise with inflation, but a Dr's done not 💀
@implausibleblog MP's >>>> Plus expenses which many abuse ! discounted food and wine in HOP top quality ! A pay off if they leave ! Plus a second house WE the tax payer has paid for ! give that house back !
@implausibleblog @Nukey70 Surely doctors earn more than 25k a yr am really struggling to believe the figures on this post. MP,s I would of believed that figure weekly daily even as they are corrupt thieving criminals but doctors after all that study and importance of job to be on basic wage
@implausibleblog Exactly this. Here in Canada my GP is British. My dentist is from Dublin. Reward them or lose them…
@implausibleblog My ma had a stroke while having a full hysterectomy couple days ago. Couldn't see a consultant for quite a long time after it happened due to strikes. Recovery/treatment were uncertain. I still support the strikes.
@implausibleblog A straight swap on these salaries would be welcomed by a sizeable majority of the public - just watch the 999 documentaries to see the worth of these excellent Doctors
@implausibleblog Even nurses jog more than 2k a month, where you getting these made up figures from 😂
@implausibleblog Woah! What a difference 18 years makes 😮 And who is doing the more skilled job? !
@implausibleblog Over 500,000 people left the UK last year didn't they, that no excuse as people left countries to come here to work in the NHS.
@implausibleblog I do. I blame the government for taking the piss not our brilliant nhs staff. It's a scandal that mps have had above inflation rises for ever and have the cheek to deny everyone else enough to pay the bills. GTTO NOW
@implausibleblog how can we support the strike?? have donated to the BMA am wondering if there’s anything else i can do !!
@implausibleblog Maybe it would be higher if they stopped importing cheap quacks from overseas
@implausibleblog If they want to be paid global market rates, maybe we can allow for private sector involvement?
@implausibleblog F*ck the Tories to absolute hell👍 hope the Doctors get what they rightly deserve. Politics in this country is backwards. In it for themselves only . Selfish!
@implausibleblog @guy_malyon Just luv this tweet. Imho, it should be RTd all day long
@implausibleblog My friends a doctor. She earns a £118k a year. That doesn’t include any of the private work she could do if she chose too either.
@implausibleblog Avg qualified docs pay is £110k. Choo to £100k and put the other 10k into the Jnr salary. Job done. Docs are paid a LOT of £ compared to tons of other highly skilled roles. They can't be surprised at the tiny violins. If anyone is deserving of new money it's nurses and teachers.
@implausibleblog @Zettersletter Pay MPs junior doctors wages and we'll see where we are in 5 years!
@implausibleblog Absolutely. The numbers speak for themselves. #DoctorsStrike
@implausibleblog @SusanTeresa1975 Incredible that a so called advanced country is losing doctors.
@implausibleblog Good, let the mercenaries leave. None of this emotional blackmail about saving the NHS. It'll survive greed.
@implausibleblog I dont support either Dr or MP salary increasing It is a joke. NHs efficiency needs improving not more Salary. MP salary should be reduced en par to Dr at 3K region
@implausibleblog Performance related pay is a great thing. Oh hang on...
