Danny Sriskandaraja, "Steve Reed talked about he ideology and the question is why are we paying for the ineptitude of the water companies" #BBCQT "We're not.. We paying for the ideology of the 1980s moment of deciding to privatise somethings human's can't do without, water" "Worse still its based on awful economics.. Why would you privatise a service which is effectively a monopoly?" "This is the biggest heist in plain site.. £85 billion has been paid to the shareholders of water companies.. While we have been treated like cash-cows.. How can that be right"
@implausibleblog This means the Tories have to be kept out of power forever. Because they literally exist to to transfer the taxes WE pay to the people that don’t pay taxes
@implausibleblog Absolute honesty. You've hit the nail on the head and challenged the greed of big companies. Profit before safety.
@implausibleblog Scandal after scandal after scandal. Our apathy being the biggest.
@implausibleblog We had a chance to renationalise the water companies in 2019 but many in the Labour Party actively worked against that happening Instead we ended up with a corrupt racist sack of shite in power and we are where we are #bbcqt x.com/implausibleblo…
@implausibleblog England the only country to privatise water - rivers full of shite Scotland remains in public ownership - cleaner cheaper for consumers and costs less Why is @UKLabour not nationalising water like they said they would
@implausibleblog Couldn't agree more, the privatization of water companies has been a disaster for the environment and our wallets. It's time for a change.
@implausibleblog @poorscousertom Privatising natural monopolies is never a smart idea. Royal Mail, water, electricity, etc. Plenty of concerns make sense as private businesses. Much of what was sold in the 1980s (BA, BT, Jaguar, etc) has done well. But this doesn't mean that *everything* should be privatised.
@implausibleblog How come Wales and Scotland have managed to renationalise their water but not England?
@implausibleblog Absolutely. Water, like energy to cook with & heat our homes in winter, are essential to life & their cost & availability should not be dictated by greed of private companies & shareholders. #EnoughIsEnough #UtilitiesAreNotLuxuries #NationaliseUtilitiesNOW yougov.co.uk/politics/artic…
@implausibleblog Totally agree, take the water companies back into public ownership, take not buy! The shareholders have had enough £££'s in bonuses compensate them, it is not as if they have done much improvements to the infrastructure!
@implausibleblog Hits the nail on the head Reed has got wrong The privatisation of water economic model can never work It's a monopoly Another third rate labour Mp
@implausibleblog Privatisation when you can never run out of the publics money
@implausibleblog Another giant cock up like brexit and both done by the Conservatives
@implausibleblog Simple truth often shocks, particularly to those who never have to deal with the consequences of their actions.
@implausibleblog Yes but now the Labour government want the poor to pay again
@implausibleblog Note the way Fiona Bruce always tries to cut short the applause for a truthful and cogent speaker. Years of Tory practice.
@implausibleblog Look at the smile of the Tory on the end, a vacuous expression because she has no answer & Labour has little better.
@implausibleblog @JonnyB64 If they could have found a way of controlling the supply of air they would have privatised that too.
@implausibleblog I’m sure Emily Sheffield, David Cameron’s sister-in-law, knows all about MacQuarie’s rip off of our water companies.
@implausibleblog Watched by Mortician the smug, sister in law of the shiny faced pig botherer.
@implausibleblog You can't expect Steve Reed to crackdown on rogue water companies in the middle of the football season There's some big games coming up
@implausibleblog afaik England is the only country in the world to have privatised its water supply. The consequences have been so dire, and the solution is so obvious, yet they agonise about it.
@implausibleblog Definitely, I’ve said this for years. We can’t exactly say “we’re not happy with your service, we’ll take our sewage elsewhere”
@implausibleblog And yet Margaret Thatcher is still idolised by millions of people in this country
@implausibleblog And Sheffield smirked throughout.
@implausibleblog @dorset_eye 'More old Estonian than old Etonian' and 'Selling off the family silver, piece by piece' as Macmillan remarked a propos in his patrician drawl. The end of consensus Butskillism has solidified in the horror that is Starmer
@implausibleblog The water companies are not inept, they are achieving exactly what they aim for, and the government/ regulator are letting them.
@implausibleblog And that looks like David Cameron's very smug sister in law getting ready to lie about the tories.
@implausibleblog This obviously all down to the antisemitism of Jeremy Corbyn and the Hamas tunnels in North Islington
@implausibleblog join the march in London in a couple of weeks time
