Sinéad was an extraordinary talent. She could move us with a candour and a passion with which so many people connected. The path she chose was always difficult and uncompromising but at every turn she would show her spirit and her courage. I feel lucky to have had the chance to work with her. - PG Sinéad O'Connor at Womad 2014. Photo: York Tillyer
@itspetergabriel Condolences ❤️ Peter.. I met her at the Chicago ( Tinley park ) WOMAD tour - Sinéad was so authentic and kind
@itspetergabriel We all were fortunate in your collaboration with her, Peter.
“There are also honourable – or dishonourable – mentions of celebrity boyfriends. She writes that Peter Gabriel, who was divorced from his first wife when they dated in the early 90s, regarded her as his “weekend pussy”. Did that upset her? “Yes, I was really hurt because he had chased me for about a year as if he was madly in love with me. He was the type of dude who you’d be away with and he’d put a note under the door to tell you he’s just about to go out on a date with another girl. And he’d get you down for the weekend and then say, you know this isn’t going to go any further.” She says, “Because of Peter, I’ve always drilled it into my sons that you must never tell a woman you love her to get her into bed.” She says she doesn’t want to give the wrong impression of Gabriel, though. “To be fair, he also has a great tenderness about him.” [May 2021] @guardian #SineadOConnor

@itspetergabriel Lovely tribute. Didn’t realise you had worked together until now but not surprised as she worked with lots of other brilliant musicians. Only heard Sinead and Willy Nelson on Dont Give Up last night.
@itspetergabriel Nice tribute See you in September in Michigan
@itspetergabriel In her memoir, she said in the early 90s Peter Gabriel regarded her as "weekend pussy." She taught her boys to never lie to a woman and tell her you love her just to get her into bed. She used Peter Gabriel as the example of what not to do. amp.theguardian.com/music/2021/may…
@itspetergabriel Mr Gabriel, It is exceedingly gracious of you to take time in express your value of Sinead O'Connor. As you expressed so eloquently she had a certain conviction that she stayed true to her heart . God's grace and mercy unto you and also to her household
