Minor issue today. A flood covered the track in small rocks this morning, derailing Mavis. She's been taken to the Works to be checked over.
Quick update: Timothy has settled in, and seems perfectly comfortable in our company, though he still doesn't like the trucks.
Things have been unusually hectic this past month. We've had away jobs, and repairs, and closures... Anyway, it's over now, and I'm back! :)
I apologise profusely for my extended absence. Whilst I cannot promise regular future updates, I will try at least a few a week.
I loaded Timothy's trucks yesterday, and he grunted in recognition. It's a start.
Joseph remarked last night that he'd like to drive off a cliff if it would stop Timothy grumbling at him. Ever the dramatist.
The trucks don't like Timothy either: apparently they don't behave for him like they do for Toby or Mavis.
Timothy's mood has not remotely improved. I think we're in for a rough ride..!
His name is Timothy. No, he says, we can not call him Tim.
The new diesel arrived yesterday. He's not much like George, unfortunately. He works hard like George, but he's grouchy, and sharp.
Happy Easter! Manager wouldn't let us organise an Easter egg hunt spanning the entire quarry. Shame...
Apologies. Drove to the garage two days ago for a checkup when I swerved, and drove into a pond. Needed more than a checkup afterwards...
Saw the barmy old Ffarquhar stationmaster trying to clear it up with a dustpan and brush. Driver remarked that he should be committed.
Just returned from a nice trip out of the quarry to load the truck again.
Minor incident this morning. The doors of one of Mavis' trucks opened prematurely, and covered the level crossing with stone.
Weather's improving, but areas of the quarry are still waterlogged.
Had a spell of poor weather these last few days. Our progress has been slowed due to the torrential rain.
