I meet with Zambians and Cameroons tonight, go to the Gold Coast Australia next week and then India the week after. We plan VRiMS events in Kenya and Tanzania next year. This is the power of XR for global health.
In January of this year Apple dropped stereoscopic view for 360VR on YouTube. Not a major problem for low to middle income countries where most use android devices but a problem for the U.K. and so we built our own app, the VRiMS app for live streaming on android & iOS devices.
XR for global health or just a midlife crises?
Can we convince surgical colleges or surgical associations that XR surgical training is the future? We have convinced the next generation, the VRiMS medical student surgical societies group Manchester, UCLAN, Lincoln, Buckinghamshire, KCL, Exeter, Sheffield, BSMS and St George’s

Had a go with the Tobii eye tracking glasses to develop ML approaches on histological and dermascopic evaluation of head and neck malignancies, methodological design for our AI and AR skin cancer app and clinical trial development
Great initiative by the @VRIMS_Lab team to integrate XR into undergraduate surgical societies, every medical school represented, XR workshops, competition to build VR surgical app, group led by medical students chair Abdulwali Yasini (UCLAN) co-chair Siddarth Komperla (Sheffield)
This one will be special. It is where my migrant parents came from. I meet heads of regional medical schools to discuss integration of XR in undergraduate and postgraduate surgical curriculum in Punjab, India. Despite all the challenges my vision is clear. VRiMS.net
