@jakesilverlab Try Purina's Calming Care. It's a probiotic that you put on their food.
@jakesilverlab We used an adapter with Adaptil for a few months in the beginning. The active ingridient is diffused into the air and it‘s supposed to have a calming effect on the dog. We had good experiences with that, without setting the dog on direct medication.
@jakesilverlab We have two Weims, the breed is prone to separation anxiety. Both are currently on Prozac and it’s made a big difference.
@jakesilverlab Exercise is an old reply but a good one! Anxiety can be siphoned off by exercise, even if just a 10minute fast one. No eye contact needed!
@jakesilverlab My Lab is exactly the same. She pants often or if she gets nervous. Staying active helps. If she’s exercised regularly, I think she’s too tired to be anxious. Recently she sustained a CCL tear & that’s pretty much a life changing injury. So, life will be interesting. 😔
@jakesilverlab I talk to our dogs constantly. They know everything I say and respond. Try having a conversation with. It makes a huge difference.
@jakesilverlab My rescue dog Milo has generalised anxiety and has been on Fluoxetine for a while. He is much better but becomes anxious when he meets dogs on his walks
@jakesilverlab Taz has anxiety. He paces the house continually. He gets on the couch, then jumps off, gets behind the couch, then he gets on the loveseat, then he starts pacing again. I didn't want him drugged up so I let him do his thing

@jakesilverlab My son’s silver lab is very active and always “on” even when resting. We joke he will bark at wind. However, he also wants constant attention and will whine. He whines a lot in car rides to anywhere. He is almost 7 yrs old. He is a love bug but high maintenance. Wears us out.
@jakesilverlab Yes our doodle Lila came to us at 6 months. I hooked her leash through my belt loop. Did everything connected. Even cooking. After another six months of gentle loving and leash connection she became a happy relaxed doggo for 12 beautiful years❤️Love heals
@jakesilverlab Does Jackson have his own safe place? When my Ted 2 1/2 yrs, feels overwhelmed he goes to his cage that he's had from day one. He sleeps with me at night and when I go to work he automatically goes to his cage and stays until I get home.
@jakesilverlab Hope things get better for him. Give it time. We got our dog Roselind when she was 2-1/2 to 3 years old. She had major separation anxiety, which basically went away on its own. She does whine a lot & barks at dogs on the street when riding in the car. Just her little quirk. 💙💕
