Voting alone may not be sufficient to prevent disaster, but BOY HOWDY is it necessary. I sympathize with everyone who feels unrepresented by current choices, but opting out is just ceding the field to the folks you most disagree with. Let's cover our ass while we work for change.
I can't remember the exact quote or who said it, but I love the idea that even if you don't love any candidates, voting is about choosing your opponent. Who do you want to be pushing to change? Who's going to be easier to sway to your view, or more likely to make concessions?
The thing about voting for the lesser evil is that it's *lesser*. It's easier to defeat, and allows you to better concentrate your efforts on specific fronts, rather than fighting everywhere all the time.
