Sore from cutting down 4 Italian cypress, mowing lawn (yard service forgot us), and general yard work. Sunny morning in Oregon - needed!

Working on Gospel Doctrine lesson #45 - faith and prayer. I like early Saturday mornings because of the spiritual start from lesson prep.

Di and I just saw the movie "Australia"; a big, long, old-timey movie. I liked the depth three plus hours gives a screenplay.

Kruse Collins helped hang lights - excellent new boy labor! Also, powerwashed sidewalks and front porch. Cleaned gutters. Good day.

Hired Christmas lights hung - terrible job. I'm getting ready to re-do them. I really dislike that task, but it's the only option left.

Just saw Grandpa Bob at the VA Hospital in SLC. He's still in good spirits. Took a few videos, showed him the Thanksgiving pics and vids.

Making decision on new furnace for Cherry Circle - looking over costs. Gas company will pipe gas to the house, a real upgrade for us.

Saw Meg and T - they went to the hospital with us. Dad was happy to see everyone - he particularly lit up when he saw Diane and Meg.

Saw Dad this afternoon. His color is good, and he seemed chipper, but he is gaunt. Pacemaker on R side, wound from previous one on L side.

Just finished Thanksgiving dinner at Robyn's. Diane sick at the Hotel Monaco, Dad in the VA getting pacemaker leads replaced.

Very bugged that my left knee is injured. Keeping me from exercising, and I'm feeling restless and grumpy beause of it. Got to see a doc.

Up doing Sunday's lesson. Obviously can't get in to it. Maybe I'll do other errands and come back to it.

Just talked to Cath. She got girl clothes for Emma from Grandma Addie: a generation gap opened wide. Lots of animals and bows and prints.

Dinner with Ali and Anthony - instead of being in Japan. Going to Murata. Great traditional Japanese in Portland - but still not Japan.

Talking to Phoenix landscaper - who has been slow with plans and is mucho dinero, but got the front yard approvals from the HOA on Tuesday.

Looking at fireplace inserts and replacing furnace for Cherry Circle. We have to get natural gas to the property, but that looks doable.

Even though I think I'm through Christmas shopping, Di came up with other ideas: headphones and a laptop case. Ordering those tonight.

Just got latest Malcom Gladwell book - "Outliers". Looking forward to reading it later this evening.

Di is at Relief Society. I'm trying to sell Pierpont W102, coordinating Phoenix contractors, and searching for a new lawn co. in Portland.
