Further fragmentation of primary care (this time via sick notes being pushed out to another part of the system) is unlikely to be the answer… perhaps we could look at the reasons why such a high proportion of the population are unwell and address them instead?

@Oohgpwales If someone is too unwell to work, has been referred to a hospital specialty, but is not ill enough to be an emergency then their GP, exercising clinical judgement, will issue "sick notes". The waits, even for urgent referrals, with some specialties is months, if not longer!
@Oohgpwales The UK govt has never prioritised protecting the nation from #COVID19 pandemic, so long term ill also now includes #NHS personnel, and there is no longer an EU workforce available fill the gaps, thanks to a "hard Brexit. The country is in a Tory created unholy mess. #Corruption
