Jerusalem is -- at most -- the third-holiest site in Islam. Even then, that overstates its significance in Islamic history. But history makes the issue of who should control Jerusalem very simple. When Jordan controlled Jerusalem from 1948 - 1967, no Jews could visit the Western Wall -- for 19 years. Not one Jew allowed at the holiest site in Judaism. Zero. And of the 58 synagogues in the Old City as of 1948, three were converted to stables, as in for horses. The other 55 were completely destroyed. And the Western Wall of the Temple Mount was where Jordan dumped trash, turning Judaism's holiest site into a garbage dump. When the Jewish state reclaimed its eternal capital of Jerusalem, what happened? Not a single mosque was destroyed. Not one. And since 1967, Israel has preserved the right of Muslims to pray at the Al Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount -- directly above the very Western Wall Jews were prohibited from praying at for 19 years. The world cannot allow anyone but Israel to control Jerusalem. History shows us why.

@joelmowbray The Western retaining wall isn't particularly holy or special. It's just the closest we are allowed to get to the site of our temples for prayer because of the triumphalist mausoleum the supremacist Muslims built atop our Jewish holy site to cement their imperial conquest.
x.com/danlinnaeus/st… The contrast in treatment is stark: “Today, the Israeli government announced that the Temple Mount in Jerusalem and the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron will be closed tomorrow to the entry of Jews until this Sunday on account of the Muslim holiday of Lailat al Mi'raj.”

@joelmowbray I mean, the entire kotel plaza used to be Arab houses didn't it?
@joelmowbray @AndreaButelmann the 1948 partition did not contemplate Jerusalem as part of Israel.
@joelmowbray I saw the Wailing Wall and realised the Jews have been terribly shortchanged.
@joelmowbray @HilzFuld You fail to mention the importance of Jerusalem to the Christian religion. What happened to churches during Jordan’s control and now during Israel’s control? Are not Armenian Christians getting pushed out by Jewish settlers?
@joelmowbray Not to mention that Israel is the only middle eastern country where gays can live freely, and yet, the gay rights community continues to support Palestinians... I don't get it.
@joelmowbray I appreciate a Truth teller. thank you
@joelmowbray @HilzFuld I visited Jerusalem. Was at the Western Wall. Stood on Mount Olives overlooking The Temple Mount. Nothing in this world is as provocative as the sight of that mosque on the very site where King Solomon built the first Jewish Temple.
@joelmowbray A heartbreaking history and test of faith 💔🙏🏽🕊 Jerusalem and all of Israel belongs to the Israelis. The fact that the particular Muslim Arab countries demand or insist that Israel should give up any single tiny bit of Jerusalem, illustrates their aggression and disrespect.
@joelmowbray Actually, Al Aqsa might not be Al Aqsa.
@joelmowbray Actually, Al Aqsa might not be Al Aqsa.
@joelmowbray "Al Aqsa is in danger" was a false mantra and battlecry used to incite violence against Jews in 1929, and then ever since.
@joelmowbray Muslims have no tolerance for any other religion.
@joelmowbray When the control of the Aqsa Mosque was given to the Muslim, no Jews of Christians allowed, no even permitted to walk around. So today, only Muslims can visit.
@joelmowbray The question also arises on why Jordan controlled Al Aqsa and didn’t give it to the Palestinians? And why did Egyptians at that time also controlled Gaza and didn’t give it to the Palestinians? Anyone? I’ll wait.
@joelmowbray you overlooked the history of Jews under Muslim ruling in Palastine & other countries for centuries & how they had their best living condition under Muslim and you picked on 20 years under the ruling of the King Hussein who took its control after his deal with the Zionist in 48
@joelmowbray I didn't see that as a good thing to keep everything like it is, Israel should ask the Arab world where they want Al Asqa airlifted to.
@joelmowbray @CorisandeN Before Oct 7th I hoped a fudge might be found in my lifetime that would be more acceptable to the Arab world and its supporters. 7/10 and its aftermath have shown that there is no willingness to compromise or negotiate, and that UN or other outside bodies cannot be relied on.
@joelmowbray @br_mrth45034 Absolutely spot on Joel - am now following you
@joelmowbray How many times in Jerusalem mentioned in the Koran? To the best of my knowledge, the same number as represented by the hole in a bagel. Muslims pray with their rear end facing Jerusalem; Jews pray facing Jerusalem. J'lem for Muslims is nothing other than a land grab.
@joelmowbray “When Jordan controlled #Jerusalem from 1948 - 1967, no Jews could visit the Western Wall -- for 19 years. Not one Jew allowed at the holiest site in Judaism. Zero. And of the 58 synagogues in the Old City as of 1948, three were converted to stables, as in for horses.”
Jerusalem does not appear in the Quran even once; check it out. Jerusalem is mentioned in later Islamic literature as the place of Muhammad's Night Journey. In the story of Muhammad's ascension from Al-Aqsa Mosque In the Israʾ "Night Journey", Muhammad is said to have travelled on the back of a Burqa (a winged horse-like animal. And Muslims believe this.
@joelmowbray East Jerusalem Arabs, who were born there and whose families lived there before Israel even existed, don't have the right to permanent resicency in the city. If they go to study in the US for 7 years to earn a MSc, PhD and postdoc, they lose the right to return to their city.
@joelmowbray @HilzFuld Now you all can see - religious fanatics are the cause of most wars in theME. And in some other parts of the world. There may only be one God - not sure - and from what I understand he’s called by a number of names - God, Allah and others. Just worship your god in your own space
@joelmowbray Can you tell us before 1948? Where Jews allowed to pray there?
@joelmowbray The amount of people falling for this propaganda is legitimately scary… Every day, I am convinced more and more that the west is just a bunch of disingenuous psychos like you… They mostly just seem stupid. OP should have known better.
@joelmowbray @nosmh_x That was a mistake. They should have razed the mosque back then.
@joelmowbray Nice piece and they also used gravestones as road pavers
@joelmowbray Islam invaded Jerusalem. They got nothing to do with that city prior to its invasion and as long as the Temple Mount remains on top of the old Jewish Temple, it will be pull down or bombed some day. We just as well have to prepared for that day.
