The credit bureaus plan to remove paid medical collections from credit reports. Unpaid medical debt under $500 will be dropped. And the time period collection agencies have to report will increase from 6 months to 1 year. These items go into effect over the next 12 months.

The wealthy use credit to buy assets that generate cash flow. Buy yourself a house, but also work towards owning a few rental properties that pay your personal mortgage and eventually pay off the mortgages on your rentals. Then pass that wealth down your generation line.

Don't forget to dust off that old dept store card once in a while. If you have a card that's been inactive for 12+ months, there's a risk that the account could be involuntarily closed or the limit reduced. Buy a little something every 6 months to keep the account active and open

Couples can now qualify for a mortgage easier. DU (Desktop Underwriter) will take the middle score of both applicants and average them out. Normally, each applicant would need to be above 620 to have their income considered. Now, both just need to average out to 620 FICO Mortgage

Your credit score is ALWAYS changing. This is because new data is constantly being pushed to your credit report on different dates of each month. Credit card companies usually report a couple days AFTER your statement closes. Tip: Pay your cards down to 1% BEFORE this date.

You don't need "perfect" credit to buy a home. Most lenders generally want to see at least a 620+ FICO Score. However, the higher the score, the better the rate. In 2020, consumers with a 660 saw an avg rate of 2.9% and those with a 760 saw an avg rate of 2.3%.

It’s not a bad idea to help your kids build credit early. You can add them as an authorized user to one of your good credit cards. Then, once they have a credit profile, freeze their report. When the time is right and they mature, give them the PIN to unfreeze their credit report

Reaching an 800+ credit score is tough, but not impossible. In fact, 21% of consumers have over an 800 and 1.2% have an 850. However, once you hit 740 and on, you can expect GOOD approvals on mortgages, loans, and credit cards. Use GOOD credit to purchase assets & generate wealth
