When I worked at Google, anytime someone emailed me a simple question I'd reply: "Hmm, let's set up a recurring bi-weekly about this, loop in some folks from legal, and put some OKRs around it." I was promoted 5 times in 7 years.

Reminder to make “doing the thing” the goal, not “what you get” from doing the thing.
You get rewarded for unique knowledge, not for effort. Effort is required to create unique knowledge.
Business is not an avenue for self-actualization. At least, that should not be the initial motivation. It's about helping your clients achieve a result. Later in hindsight, you might grow as a person as an aftereffect.
People will accept your unbelievable demands of them if you match them with even greater demands of yourself.
