Thank you, Bernard Hill, for a performance so many of us will always treasure: a truly unforgettable and epic portrayal of King Théoden 💛 Hail the victorious dead!
@joshcarlosjosh Many places I have been Many sorrows I have seen But I don't regret Nor will I forget All who took that road with me ❤️
@joshcarlosjosh Alas that these evil days should be mine. Hail.
@joshcarlosjosh Rest now, my King.
@joshcarlosjosh Even the thought of his speech before charging the fields just gave me chills. Epic performance R.I.P. King
@joshcarlosjosh RIP legend - here the famous „how did it come to this“ scene: youtu.be/xVEYcTyj1Do?si…
@joshcarlosjosh He gave us some of the greatest cinematic moments of all time. Hail the victorious dead indeed.
@joshcarlosjosh The ride for ruin speech and its aftermath secured that Best Picture Oscar. RIP Bernard Hill
Deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Bernard Hill. His portrayal of Theoden, King of Rohan in The Lord of the Rings is truly extraordinary. May you rest in peace..😢😭 and May our dearly cherished hero, Theoden, the King of Rohan, find serene repose. 💛💛💛 #lordofthering #LOTR #theoden #lordoftherings
@joshcarlosjosh Théoden has always been one character that stood out to me in the films and Bernard’s performance is a big part of that.
@joshcarlosjosh My favorite moment in this sequence is just before the speech, as he looks for the first time upon the enemy army. There's this flash of dismay as he sees its size. But then he swallows his doubts, turns around, and starts confidently issuing orders. Great character moment.
@joshcarlosjosh Nothing to do for it but start watching Two Towers rn in his honor 😢
@joshcarlosjosh RIP the great Bernard Hill
@joshcarlosjosh He goes to be with his fathers, in whose mighty company he will not feel ashamed.
@joshcarlosjosh Most underrated performance on the entire trilogy is Hill’s Théoden. The most complex role and he steals every scene he’s in. A true legend!
@joshcarlosjosh Never expected this. 😢😢😢😢😢 Res in peace, my king.
@joshcarlosjosh R.I.P. King of the golden hall! 👑⚔ #LOTR #Bernard Hill
@joshcarlosjosh Forth Eorlingas!!!! Safe travels Théoden King 🕯️
@joshcarlosjosh RIP Bernard 😞 Hail the victorious dead!
@joshcarlosjosh Sad news but can't help thinking how amazing Yozzer Hughes would have been charging up to the wittch king and sticking the head on him.
@joshcarlosjosh Impossible to watch this without a tear in my eye.
@joshcarlosjosh So passes King Theoden. Thank you Bernard Hill
@joshcarlosjosh Oh no! Literally only mentioned him earlier today in the context of being the only actor to have appeared in both 11 Oscar-winning movies.
@joshcarlosjosh A sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises! RIP
@joshcarlosjosh Fey he seemed, or the battle-fury of his fathers ran like new fire in his veins, and he was borne up on Snowmane like a god of old, even as Orome the Great in the battle of the Valar when the world was young.
@joshcarlosjosh From Yozzer to Theoden, one of my favourite actors. I bet he is at the pearly gates saying, I can do that, gizza job. RIP Bernard
@joshcarlosjosh “Arise! Arise, Riders of Theoden! Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered! A sword day…a red day…ere the Sun rises!” ~King Theoden
@joshcarlosjosh This one has hit hard. I remember watching boys from the blackstuff back in the 1980s and was amazed by Bernard and his portrayal of Yosser(shake hands) Hughes. From the captain of Titanic to Shirley valentines husband all the way to Theoden in The Lord of the Rings. RIP my king
