Decentralization is not a silver bullet. It resists censorship, but also resists coordination, moderation, and trust at scale. Without strong incentive design or fallback mechanisms, it can backfire - not by enabling censorship, but by failing to prevent abuse or misinformation.

Some people blame decentralization when things go wrong, but most systems that break under censorship were never truly decentralized. If your sequencer is centralized, your moderation is centralized, and your infra is centralized… then what exactly is decentralized?
