hey Josh, how come you or @upstash didn't reach out to us rather than reinventing tRPC? We would love to have you involved. From what I can tell you have two main issues that you're addressing: 1. You're missing being able to return different content types than JSON. 2. You don't like the react query integration 1: This is fixable in tRPC 2a): You can use a tRPC client directly if you'd want today which would make it look like JStack 2b): We're in progress of making a much slimmer version of the React package which will be out soon™ (I honestly don't think it's a great look for Upstash to plagiarize a community-driven free open-source project rather than first attempting to help it out)
@joshtriedcoding This seems like a slightly modified version of tRPC. What's the meat here?
@joshtriedcoding Not being mean, but I don't see any benefit of using this stack, it's just nextjs + tRPC
@joshtriedcoding Perfect timing for GitHub to be down.
@joshtriedcoding Very nice Josh! I use a very similar stack in @supastarter and it's top-notch DX in my opinion!
@joshtriedcoding Most of the arguments you made against tRPC are actually being addressed or could have been, why create a new lib instead of contributing a library that you already liked? I don't get it.
@joshtriedcoding not that type-safe. 🤷♂️
@joshtriedcoding This is awesome, I know the community will love this! I need music on this video though haha 😅
@joshtriedcoding Nice work @joshtriedcoding Why are you using both bun and yarn? bun.lockb yarn.lock Also bun now support text based lock file. As the binary based solution is poor for version control and conflict resolution. bun.sh/blog/bun-v1.2
@joshtriedcoding "AI-Optimized Docs (soon)" Exactly what I went to the site to see. This needs to be common practice!
@joshtriedcoding Why would I use this over TRPC?
@joshtriedcoding Redux is not that bad... U should try redux toolkit, it even comes with data fetching capabilities builtin
@joshtriedcoding Never understood why people use tRPC with nextjs when you already have access to all types over both front and backend already? So JStack confuses me even more. What do these tools solve, or than limit your api capabilities?
@joshtriedcoding The grandma joke didn’t disappoint 🤣🤣
@joshtriedcoding Nice work @joshtriedcoding! I look forward to trying it
@joshtriedcoding Hi @joshtriedcoding I love your youtube Man, Will you create a “tutorial” how to build dashboard with this? That would be awesome. And I currently learn Your code, there’s some “concepts” I need to grasp on. Especially how can I integrate it with my current next.js project
@joshtriedcoding Can it be deployed to Deno Deploy?
@joshtriedcoding excellent work Josh! The decoupled client makes a huge difference when you run into those trpc edge cases.
@joshtriedcoding Damn cool I also want to build something like this for python ecosystem
@joshtriedcoding I should release a competing product with @bunjavascript and call it Yamstack… cuz Bun got them Yams, son. youtu.be/hRK7PVJFbS8?si…
@joshtriedcoding passed out from school now interested in progamming from where to start which language to prefer first
@joshtriedcoding how can I make introduction videos like that!!
