I have a Golf challenge/variation for @goodgood_golf: Pirate’s Plunder Golf Rules Concept: Pirate captains battle for glory on the golf course (the high seas) with only eight clubs—their Pieces of Eight. Low score wins. Eye patches and mutiny putts keep it chaotic. Playable on a 9- or 18-hole course, or a backyard setup (18 works best though). Setup: Each player picks 8 clubs (their Pieces of Eight) before the round. No more, no less. No swapping or borrowing mid-round. Everyone wears an eye patch (party store cheapies work). No opt-outs unless medically necessary. Optional: Pick a pirate name (e.g., Captain Shank or Blackbeard Bogey) and yell it when you sink a putt. No extra gear needed—just your 8 clubs and balls. Rules: Eye-Patch Switcheroo: Wear an eye patch over one eye (your choice). At the turn (hole 10 for 18 holes, hole 5 for 9 holes), switch it to the other eye. No removing it, even if you shank one into the next county. Mutiny on the Green: On every green, the first player to putt must use a non-putter club (e.g., wedge, hybrid, driver) from their 8 clubs for their first putt. Group can pick the club for extra chaos. After the first putt, they can switch to their putter (if they have one). Others putt normally, eye patch on. Pieces of Eight (Eight Clubs Rule): Your 8 clubs are your Pieces of Eight. Pick ’em before the round (e.g., 3-wood, 4-hybrid, 6-iron, 8-iron, PW, SW, putter, 7-wood). Announce or write ’em down. Use any club any time—no restrictions. But with only 8, choose wisely. Plunder Twist: Win a hole outright (lowest score, no ties) and you can “plunder” one club from another player’s bag for the next hole. They can’t use it, but you can (capped at 8 clubs total, so drop one of yours to use it). Return it after the hole. Example: Win hole 3, plunder Dave’s driver. On hole 4, use it but drop your 6-iron. After hole 4, swap back. Limit: One plundered club per hole, only on outright wins. Scoring: Standard golf scoring: lowest total strokes wins. No adjustments. Winner is the “Pirate Lord of the Plunder.” Bragging rights or a cheap prize (like a six-pack) for the victor.
