@jsngr - Rent: $2,000/mo - Food: $600/mo - Clothing: $400/mo - Apple Bill: $18,947/mo
@jsngr @zolihonig There’s actually a good idea in here somewhere for improving your phone addiction. Like, if you check your phone (or social media) more than once an hour, then to open it you have to pay, or donate to your political opponent or something.
@jsngr This would add another $1 trillion to Apple’s market cap
@jsngr This is ridiculous on first glance and fascinating on second. The notion that you would use your phone in focused, more intentional sessions could radically change behavior. Put another way, would you pay $15 a day to get 3 hours of productive time back? Of course you would.
@jsngr delete, don’t give elon any more monetization ideas 🤣
@jsngr Can you pay to someone else to unlock it? Because I would love to pay to a fun time treasury or a friend. I find the app one-sec.app far more helpful in reducing my addictions to specific apps.
@jsngr People who unlock their phones 500 times a day: 👁️👄👁️
@jsngr omg would do this into a savings acct for X unlocks a day and then into a nonprofit of my choosing beyond X
@jsngr Funny thing is, if this were putting the money away into to a savings account, I might be interested 😅.
@jsngr I actually wouldn’t even write this idea off, would make phone use more intentional, just make the money go into a savings account or something and make it like $0.10 every unlock
@jsngr Wouldn’t be a bad feature to integrate with screen time. $1 to override. $0.80 goes into your savings/investment account and $0.20 goes to Apple.
@jsngr If they were handing out iPhones for free then pay to unlock would just be one more business model. But to buy something and then have to pay to unlock it, you're not really selling it and Apple should be liable for maintenance issues like a landlord is liable.
@jsngr Would be nice if you could build your savings account this way
@jsngr It could work if the money would go to your savings account which you can’t touch for 30-60-90 days OR to a charity of your choice. But then it could work the other way that oh “let me check my phone again it’s for a greater cause!” 😃
@jsngr Would be amazing if it goes to separate pot (saving account ) you can only use every 12 months so you use phone less .
@jsngr One year later after Apple Pay to unlock, we would have some unexpected savings, magical.
@jsngr This would be so much more effective to reduce screen time
