I’m trying so hard to stay hopeful while thinking of ways to support Afghan women and girls. But I’m furious. How is it in 2025 and a group of men can still decide women shouldn’t open a book? To learn? To sit in a classroom? It’s one of the greatest shames of our humanity.
I'm a little offended Mecklenburg County didn't make DHS' sanctuary locale list, since our Sheriff has worked so hard to make it known he doesn't kowtow to ICE. Better for us to stay off that list, I guess. But I'm proud of our welcoming work for immigrants in the #QueenCity
