For Scott to have managed the career he’s had while coping with Type 1 diabetes is some achievement - never mind what he’s faced over the last few months. The way he’s dealt with it has been inspirational and he’s a proper role model for the countless kids that write to him.

Some practical thoughts on being Athlete Centred. - ensure regular informed consent - have clarity on everybody’s role/behaviour - program based on the athletes goals - proactive/regular monitoring of wellbeing - pay attention to athlete experience - prioritise relationships

It is so easy for an athlete to devalue all the 'good' training, reflection and hard work that they have done. Instead some tend to focus instead on what is 'bad', 'wrong' or 'not right' with their performance which sadly can undermine their confidence.
