We have COVID, and my husband has a nagging cough. I’m trying not to get annoyed with it, but it’s so obnoxious. So I made him take NyQuil so he would stop coughing and go to sleep. Now his snoring has exiled me to the basement. I. Cannot. Win. 😐

Of course this week I have a million school things to finish and a birthday party to prepare for is the week my husband gets a stomach bug and doesn’t leave his bed for 3 days… 😒

Preparations the night before work: pump, wash+pack pump parts, lay out gym clothes, pack shower stuff+work clothes, prepare coffee, pack lunch… getting ready for bed is exhausting.

My academic poster for my DNP project is pretty much the last thing I need to do to finish my freaking DOCTORATE, but my brain turns to mush every time I look at it. 😖😖

I keep saying I can’t wait until school is done so I can just relax and read a book instead of study… but I can tell I’m way over it because I’m doing that anyway and school is NOT yet done… ☠️☠️

They threw everything in our locker room shower area away today in preparation for TJC. There were a lot of old towels and toiletries so it was understandable, but of course it happened on the one day I showered at work and left my towel and body wash in the demolition zone. 😠

Just need to finish up to conclusion of my (60-ish page) manuscript, write the abstract, executive summary, and make my poster - the end of my DNP is SO CLOSE! Any academics have tips on making a presentation poster?

My husband and I both have a cold and it took me about 0.2 seconds to decide sleeping in the guest bedroom was gonna work out better than elbowing the freight train snorer all night. 🙄🙄 (I can still hear him from the basement)

Omg I had my shift wrong in my head, and showed up to work at 0530 instead of 1000. On the morning after Daylight savings, of all days! 😫 Back home for a few hours.

This week I signed up for a meal delivery service and a dog poop scooping service. These last few months of school have me outsourcing everything. 😆 If things slow down after school maybe I’ll try to cook more, but for now I just gotta get through the next 2 months.

I’ve been asking my husband to adjust the latch on our front gate for months - it rarely stays closed. He kept putting it off and today it turned into a fight. Ended with me taking the drill and doing it myself. I should have just done that from the start - took 10 minutes. 🙄🙄

I used to be so good at pumping before bed, but I’ve gotten so lazy about it! We’re still going strong at 9.5 months breastfeeding (goal is 12mo), and I’m trying to stay motivated to keep up my supply and freezer stash. I love BFing but I HATE pumping.

Sometimes when it’s 0300 and -15°, you discharge a patient and then end up heading outside to jump their vehicle so they can leave! Sometimes you have to take your patient out the side door because there are MOOSE blocking the exit!

Why is it so busy tonight?? I finally had to announce to my coworkers (two docs, one other nurse, and one tech) that I absolutely had to go pump or I was going to explode. Sorry for the TMI but mama needs a minute!
