Colonial greed transformed the wetlands of Lāhainā. This included water diversions for sugar plantations & land use change from agricultural production to livestock grazing. The same invasive grasses that white sugar barons planted in 19 & 20c exploded like napalm in high winds.

While the Maui fires continue to rage, the news still keeps referring to Lahaina as a tourist destination. Haole keep talking about how they visited before it burned. Even destroyed our home only has value to them for their recreation, not our lives, our history, or our homes

Make no mistake: these floods, heat domes, fires, and smoke events are still just the barest beginning of Earth breakdown, and the damage is effectively irreversible. You have fossil fuel executives to thank; they chose this. In my opinion, billions of human lives are at risk.

@glowyswift13 @ycsm1n They cut corners cost wise in building the submersible. The walls are too thin, they didn’t seek any certifications, the view port is only certified for about 4,000 feet while the titanic is 13,000 feet. They used old RV parts and cheap lights from camping world. They cut corners

Truly sickening to see 437 acres of Waimānalo Beach occupied by the US Military at Bellows advertised like a resort. complete with paintball, horse riding, massages, mini golf & campsite rentals While our houseless Kānaka right down the beach, on DHHL, are preparing for a sweep
