I want to testify to somebody this morning that Jesus saved my life. When I was in my darkest seasons of sin he never left me. Neither did he leave me in them. Stayed after me, turning up the heat, til I cried out for deliverance. I would’ve destroyed myself. I’m positive of it.

There are myriads of people who are motivated by conflict. Fighting’s their caffeine. They need it to get up in the morning. Otherwise, they’re numb. They’re not nobly staying despite the infighting. They are in it for the infighting. You’re not likely going to change them.

If a group keeps you wound up all the time, it may be time to ask yourself why you’re staying. “I’m fighting for it!” Perhaps but the point at which your resentment toward many of them begins to choke out your love, you already lost. Unless, of course, what you love is to fight.

You who took up for naughty Creekie yesterday need to know she killed a squirrel on our walk this morning and carried it jostling from her jaws for a solid mile then had the nerve to give it a Christian burial and I know full well it’s so she can dig it up later and roll in it.
