Yes I know it’s Friday. I know it’s 8am. And I know it’s Easter week, but this is Waterloo, the busiest rail station in Europe and it’s empty. You wonder why our productivity is not going up. Nobody is doing any work, that’s why.
@kelvmackenzie Or people are doing work instead of wasting time that doesn't need to be spent on the Tube
@kelvmackenzie Well unless you’re an escalator repair man that’s probably not the most productive place to be
@kelvmackenzie The third most valuable company in the world is completely remote and yet travelling to an office is what define productivity for you?
@kelvmackenzie The work from home culture must stop.
@kelvmackenzie Including you 🙄 You were a major driver in fucking up this country so get used to it
@kelvmackenzie Surely working from home is more productive than working from an escalator in a Tube station?
@kelvmackenzie My trains into London go through there & I got an email this week from *the train company* warning of strikes and suggesting not to travel. That'll be a factor.
@kelvmackenzie I do all my best work on escalators! 😂
@kelvmackenzie there are also train strikes today so many people are not going to spend 4 hours trying to get into the office. Instead they'll spend those 4 hours working at home.
@kelvmackenzie I know 'the truth' isn't your strong point, but even the most basic of google searches will tell you that Waterloo isn't the busiest rail station in Europe
@kelvmackenzie They’re working at home - not wasting time commuting. Why would you want to gaslight British workers?
@kelvmackenzie Mate, we don’t work from the tube. I was working that day but not from Waterloo station.
@kelvmackenzie They were all at my local McDonald's 5 minutes before they stop serving breakfast.
@kelvmackenzie Unrelated question, do you have a property portfolio?
@kelvmackenzie An empty escalator is a sign of nobody doing any work? You're not all there.
@kelvmackenzie It's not the busiest railway station in Europe, it's not even the busiest in London, which is Liverpool Street. Don't let facts get in the way though.
@kelvmackenzie @Devongirl_64 Do you think the rail strike may be to blame?
@kelvmackenzie I believe the new thing when employed....especially in the Civil Service is "SFH"...."Shirk From Home"....our government Ministers are weak....and totally to blame for all these empty desks.
@kelvmackenzie Liverpool Street is the busiest in the U.K. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan… Waterloo isn't even in the top 10 in Europe. express.co.uk/news/world/185…
@kelvmackenzie Or maybe they are actually working rather than scurrying around like ants
@kelvmackenzie This was Waterloo and city line weds!
@kelvmackenzie 1. No plug sockets pictured there 2. Wi-Fi patchy 3. I'm busy working at home
@kelvmackenzie It's not changing. WFH is here to stay. Deal with it.
I can’t believe our government is not dealing with working from home and the huge cost to the economy not to mention productivity, its killing cities and towns all over the country ,it’s destroying companies as they loose team working, unable to engage with other members off the team and unable to understand the culture , its also good for the mind and wellbeing ,we should introduce a working from home Tax to encourage people back into the office, ,insurance companies should insist on business insurance if you are working from home ,we most stop the rot or we literally destroy the high street, not to mention huge business closures / redundancies as working from home lack of productivity and culture hits the bottom line ,we must also deal with the anti car madness which is also literally driving people away from the office and cities … Now before all you pyjama wearying working from home office workers have a go a me,take a look at the high street, shops closing, banks closing, chemists closing , its endless and if you have children how will they Learn team working / office skills if the people who need to teach them are working from home, sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture. We are becoming such an anti social society as well due to this huge change …
@kelvmackenzie And visitors can’t rely on trains to actually get there due to ongoing random strikes. Hence trips / theatres/ shopping trips don’t get planned. What a mess! I don’t know how hospitality is surviving in London.
@kelvmackenzie @d5_rss Everybody is scared of getting stabbed
@kelvmackenzie The thousands of new border control jobs we’re creating at a staggering rate, to control our imports from the EU which we didn’t need before, don't increase the UK's productivity either! Quite the opposite, since the sole purpose of their existence is to be an obstacle to trade!
@kelvmackenzie The back to sitting like zombies on trains and thanking our employers for the privilege of a 1.5 hour sweaty commute.
@kelvmackenzie Poor Kelvin, the disgraced former editor of the Sun, Not only can he not get his facts right, he’s so far behind with the times, with all this home working, his opinions are laughable.
@kelvmackenzie Almost no one stood on an elevator is doing work. Maybe some of them are working from home and not wasting hours of their day travelling?
@kelvmackenzie Usually people are working from home on Friday. At very least. And they don’t spend their time on commuting to impress you. I started working today at 8am if not earlier.
@kelvmackenzie Why don’t you take a long walk off a short pier. I commute to Waterloo and other offices but today was logged in by 8 am working with colleagues in APAC. Meanwhile Parliament have another week off …..
@kelvmackenzie Liverpool Street is the busiest station these days.
@kelvmackenzie What’s arguably happening is many are doing the same job from the comfort of their own home. No expensive, unreliable sardine tin commute to contend with that’s all, and an extra hour in bed.
